Chris Tummino, owner of My Used Car Buddy, Inc. came to us because he was using “pen and paper” to manage the car-inspection process. At the end of the night, he would then he would gather the paperwork and images from his inspectors to produce the reports for the customer (the deliverables). This manual process limited him to only being able to process a few reports per day because of the time required to build the report in MS Word.
Palm Beach Software Design came to the rescue – by creating custom software specifically for this business. We created a web-based application for the back-end portion of the business to handle scheduling, billing, etc. We also created a mobile-based app for the front-end (the inspectors all use this app on their phones now) to manage their schedules and do the full inspection via phone, pictures and all. The report is created “real-time” and is sent to the customer almost immediately. This investment in custom software has allowed this small business to TRIPLE its business overnight! Now the owner’s biggest bottleneck is adding in more inspectors to his roster!
The takeaway here is that custom software doesn’t mean “rocket science” and “expensive”…small applications can make huge differences in any business.
